Where is the Crew?

The Adventure

Members of Paddle to Haiti will canoe 2,320 miles from Lake Itasca, Minnesota down to the Gulf of Mexico. We hope to raise $50,000, which will be donated to an affiliated organization that has people working hard on the long-term recovery of Haiti's population. Along the way, we'll host events such as riverside BBQs, Ultimate Frisbee tournaments, and music shows. Because we have been involved with the Couchsurfing project (http://www.couchsurfing.com/) in the past, we know what a generous community it is and we will tap into its wide-reaching resources in order to help our cause. We will meet a lot of people from a lot of towns and cities. Through these people, we'll explore the diverse facets of the Midwest and the South, and raise funds whenever possible.

Each "river day," we'll canoe between 15 and 25 miles, camping along the way until we get to a town we planned to stop at. There, we'll resupply our provisions, rest our shoulders, meet the town, and host the event we had planned for the town. At each event, we'll talk about the organization, sell our gear, promote our sponsors, and have a good time with the local folks from the river towns.

If you can join us at a town, we'd love to see you and hang out for a while. You can track us on our blog, which we'll update frequently, and find us anywhere along the River. We look forward to seeing you along the way!

If you want us to stop by your on the River, give us a call or shoot us an email.
